About This Figure Art Drawing:
Journey into the unknown with this figure art drawing! Sometimes the doorway to happiness appears intimidating. “Undaunted” shows the moment of decision – the very second before breaking through our fears to discover what’s on the other side. This is one of my first drawings to pair my love of creepy abandoned buildings with my artworks!
This drawing is a mesh between female art and abandoned art, and explores the struggle between anxiety and determination. Though the subject of this artwork can be considered heavy or dark, the background is light; if you’ve ever experienced a concussion or a moment of high stress, then you’ve seen the white-washed effect it can have.
Your senses are heightened and every detail in your immediate surrounding is clearly recognizable. The area of the abandoned building within the subject’s focus is the most detailed area of the drawing, mimicking this experience. The bright background also gives a sense of hope in this anxiety-focused artwork.
How This Drawing Was Made:
I used reference materials from my own abandoned photography for the building. The original figurative art drawing is graphite. It’s an 8×10 print that will come sealed in a protective photo art bag, and fits into a standard sized mat. This artwork is also available as:
ACEO cards are 2.5″ x 3.5″ and come in a protective card sleeve. If you’re interested in smaller artworks and artist trading cards, visit the ACEO & Art Cards page.
